Parenting Fail

So the most horrible example of parenting fail today.

Downtown vancouver, waiting at a busy one-way street for the light to change, this group of people just walks out into the road.  The group of them meander across the buys road but are lucky that only one car comes.  Yet, none of the six of them look as the car barrels down to a stop and loudly hammers the horn.  None of them looked as they crossed or after they got to the other side!  Not one!

But wait, the best part was, as they walked past my co-worker and I, we heard them talking very non-chalantly.  It was a father, mother, and four pre-treen daughters walking together.  The mother commended how she “didn’t look, just started following [the father]” and the father said he didn’t look either, he just went.  The kids, to no surprise, just said nothing, and they all smiled and continued on happily.

At that point, as we crossed the road safely, my coworker remarked: “parenting fail.”  All I could do was laugh.
