Managed to get out to a cafe last night and see both Distraction and Outspoken Worsmiths. Wasa great show once the strange newbie poets finished. Amazing beatboxing from the OW and Distraction was as awesome as always.
Unfortuantely, had to leave due to a family emergency just as distraction started. So a crappy end to a good night.

My first contribution to the GF Grid mural is up:

Got the otaku list updated. Added a couple of things I tried, and finished the first 9 volumtes of the Trinity Blood manga. Really damn good. Not as good as Hellsing, but a somewhat less brutal and more love-story driven plot.

Playing tech support for the in-laws can be so much fun. NOT. Nothing like marrying into a family of red necks and hllbillies and being the ONLY computer savvy relative. Spent the last two days fixing three machines for the same relatives. Today’s was extra fun because a harddrive decided to die, but the relatives NEEDED the data off of it, and they have no backups.
I’ve also found that a cut on one’s pinky becomes extremely irridating when trying to type as well. I always manage to damage a hand when opening a computer, so much so that I rarely notice unless it’s bleeding. If it’s bleeding it’s even worse cause then I have to stop that first, and cover it, before continuing.

I drove a car for the first time in five years today. It was a very odd experience.
Twilight sucks. It’s a chick flick, with extremely awkward vampires. Except for the Christian Bale-like actor. He was too smooth. Yeeesh.

Can’t beleive it’s been almost a week since I last posted! Been working, gaming, sleep, and working more.
I swear to God that one day I am gonna snap, drive south, and nuke Redmond, Washington. All of it. I am so tired of trying to develop for Vista. It is an evil bitch, akin to the sin of ME, only this one is being forced onto all the new PCs.

Ended up joining a gaming clan for Zombie Panic: Source. I played the Left 4 Dead Demo, but framly, I’m not interested in paying $50 for something I enjoy less than zombie panic, which is a free Source mod.
If you’re interested, I play with th Exiled-Gamers clan on their 24/7 Biotec server. I play under the Aleph monicker (EG | Aleph in-game) and my steam account is whiterabbitt. Feel free to add me and get slaughtered along with me!

I haven’t posted much lately because some stuff, good stuff mind you, has happened, but I don’t feel like detailing it on a public blog. At least not yet. Unfortunately, due to some of this, I will become crazy busy, which means some of these posts will become very brief and short…not that they aren’t already.
But, things are going very well. If you know me personally, please contact me via email or other methods. I’ve got some interesting news.

So today it rained, then snowed, then was sunny and decently warm, and is now raining and windy as hell. I hate this crazy weather! Where’s my spring! Arg!

Got a brand new couch and loveseat today from the neighbour. They were gonna give them away so we got it first. Finally replaced the old chunk of our sectional and the piss-poor futon-style bed we got from EvilMart. Not only was the matress damaged from liquid spills (kids) but the frame was shot. Most of the welds have given out and the crap super-thin wire frame was mostly broken and falling out the bottom. Got tons of pictures of it, and man, the damage is downright scary. I can’t beleive we actually used that.
Will post some of the pics later.

Couple of movies lately have shown up on my radar. Must remeber to check them out:
- Dragonball Evolution - American butcherization of the classic Anime. I am scared, and disturbed that they chose that one to brutalize first.
- Watchmen - Considdering how 300 and Sin City were, I’d have to say that Frank Miller comics are excelent and make great move conversions, when done faithfully. This one appears to be very faithful, so I am intrigued, although I know nothing of the Watchmen series at all…yet.
- X-Men Origins: Wolverine - I’ve read the Origin comic, and Wolverine has always been my favourite. Plus, the X-Men movies aren’t that bad either, but I have yet to see the third one.
- Che (One/Two) - Two directors, one iconic man, one biopic. I hope it is as good as it sounds, although I seriously do not know enough about Che Guevara as I should, I hope the movie will be accurate enough that I can learn more.
I may actually try to catch Watchmen while it’s in theaters too. Somewhat rare for me especially now with our spending money hampered.

It’s been so bloody cold it’s not fair! Below 0 C (42 F) during the day! Even lower at night! Where the hell is my goddamn spring? We sprung ahead, I want warm!

I hate having ideas I want to write down, then loosing them by the time I find a place to write them. It happens far too often for me.

Had a fun driver on the full bus. Good enough to earn a thanks from me, which is rare these days. He was telling people to move back, but was doing so with a few good line. Told a couple of jokes, was a good trip. Just what we all needed when commuting.
Keep moving back folks, there’s a couple of ladies here that are closer to me than my wife has been in the last month.
Stuff like that, was just good to hear.

Our car got scratched up by some kids today. Bit of paint off the hood, but still a giant pain. Not just one cut either, but a whole bunch, so half the hood now needs to be repainted. Surprsingly, I’m not all that upset. We’re still paying a friend monthly for the car, but I really am not that worried about a few paint scratches.

I hate daylight savings time! It screws me up constantly and doesn’t do anything! Why do I need to wake up to sunlight in winter, just to have the sun set at 3pm?

One look at my Otaku List, and my coworker already has a dozen updates for it! Damn, that man knows far too many mangas and animes.
