Oops!

Can’t beleive it’s been almost a week since I last posted!  Been working, gaming, sleep, and working more.

I swear to God that one day I am gonna snap, drive south, and nuke Redmond, Washington.  All of it.  I am so tired of trying to develop for Vista.  It is an evil bitch, akin to the sin of ME, only this one is being forced onto all the new PCs.

Ended up joining a gaming clan for Zombie Panic: Source.  I played the Left 4 Dead Demo, but framly, I’m not interested in paying $50 for something I enjoy less than zombie panic, which is a free Source mod.

If you’re interested, I play with th Exiled-Gamers clan on their 24/7 Biotec server.  I play under the Aleph monicker (EG | Aleph in-game) and my steam account is whiterabbitt.  Feel free to add me and get slaughtered along with me!

Suprises Abound

America’s Talibangelists
- Dan Savage

I haven’t posted much lately because some stuff, good stuff mind you, has happened, but I don’t feel like detailing it on a public blog.  At least not yet.  Unfortunately, due to some of this, I will become crazy busy, which means some of these posts will become very brief and short…not that they aren’t already.

But, things are going very well.  If you know me personally, please contact me via email or other methods.  I’ve got some interesting news.

If anyone is selling, or knows of a good place to get the following at a bargain, let me know:

  • 6-string Electric Guitar, Fender Stratocaster Style
  • 6-string  Acoustic/Electric Guitar
  • Volumne Wah Pedal

Underlated to family issues, I have become involved in a mural at ye old Graphics-Forums: The Grid Mural.

I am also hosting the compiled mural, check that out here.

My contributions are under the alias White Rabbitt, my previous handle.

Whatever Way the Wind Blows

So today it rained, then snowed, then was sunny and decently warm, and is now raining and windy as hell.  I hate this crazy weather!  Where’s my spring! Arg!

Got a brand new couch and loveseat today from the neighbour.  They were gonna give them away so we got it first.  Finally replaced the old chunk of our sectional and the piss-poor futon-style bed we got from EvilMart.  Not only was the matress damaged from liquid spills (kids) but the frame was shot.  Most of the welds have given out and the crap super-thin wire frame was mostly broken and falling out the bottom.  Got tons of pictures of it, and man, the damage is downright scary.  I can’t beleive we actually used that.

Will post some of the pics later.

Couple of movies lately have shown up on my radar.  Must remeber to check them out:

  • Dragonball Evolution - American butcherization of the classic Anime.  I am scared, and disturbed that they chose that one to brutalize first.
  • Watchmen - Considdering how 300 and Sin City were, I’d have to say that Frank Miller comics are excelent and make great move conversions, when done faithfully.  This one appears to be very faithful, so I am intrigued, although I know nothing of the Watchmen series at all…yet.
  • X-Men Origins: Wolverine - I’ve read the Origin comic, and Wolverine has always been my favourite.  Plus, the X-Men movies aren’t that bad either, but I have yet to see the third one.
  • Che (One/Two) - Two directors, one iconic man, one biopic.  I hope it is as good as it sounds, although I seriously do not know enough about Che Guevara as I should, I hope the movie will be accurate enough that I can learn more.

I may actually try to catch Watchmen while it’s in theaters too.  Somewhat rare for me especially now with our spending money hampered.

The Song Remains The Same

Been a scary couple of days in the news.  Guy went nuts in Alabama, and kid shoots up a school in Germany.  Pretty scary as both of them not only hit their original targets, but travelled and took out some bystanders as well.  Not good news, ever.

Of course, while the parents may be charged in the German case, they are trying to, once again, blame video games.  I’m tired of this, it’s such bullshit, and I even found a book related to the subject that may support it: Grand Theft Childhood.

Also found this interesting article that I have just skimmed, will read more later:

Why shooting rampages aren’t big news anymore

Kind of a disturbing though, but in our sensationalist and vicarious society, it’s almost not.

My Windows XP will not automatically login anymore.  Not sure why, and I’ve tried the suggested MS fix, yet still nothing.  This is becoming just anothers window irritance to me.  I do so hate windows.

Sucks

Clowns are a childhood trauma waiting to happen.

It’s been so bloody cold it’s not fair!  Below 0 C (42 F) during the day!  Even lower at night!  Where the hell is my goddamn spring?  We sprung ahead, I want warm!

I hate having ideas I want to write down, then loosing them by the time I find a place to write them.  It happens far too often for me.

Wish

Yes, yes.  Lights out for everyone.

Ow!

Dark!

Foot!

Chair!

- Saiyuki Reload

Had a fun driver on the full bus.  Good enough to earn a thanks from me, which is rare these days.  He was telling people to move back, but was doing so with a few good line.  Told a couple of jokes, was a good trip.  Just what we all needed when commuting.

Keep moving back folks, there’s a couple of ladies here that are closer to me than my wife has been in the last month.

Stuff like that, was just good to hear.

Our car got scratched up by some kids today.  Bit of paint off the hood, but still a giant pain.  Not just one cut either, but a whole bunch, so half the hood now needs to be repainted.  Surprsingly, I’m not all that upset.  We’re still paying a friend monthly for the car, but I really am not that worried about a few paint scratches.

I hate daylight savings time!  It screws me up constantly and doesn’t do anything!  Why do I need to wake up to sunlight in winter, just to have the sun set at 3pm?

One look at my Otaku List, and my coworker already has a dozen updates for it!  Damn, that man knows far too many mangas and animes.

Otaku Revived

It’s up, and it’s renamed!

My Otaku List is updated and running, check it out!

I still have a couple of issues with teh table setup (IE no lines and a gigantic gap before the header) and I need to fill in the details, but the list is full and has all the main items I can remeber.  It’s a pretty damn long list and I hope to make it much longer in the future!

In other news….holy shit it’s snowing again!  Big freaking snowing!  So not fair!!!

100!

I said I was gonna make you dead.

Either your arguing stops instantly, or you’ll both be pissing lead!

- Sayuki Reload

Wow, it only took … almost two years … but I finally made 100 posts to this blog.  I think my intention of actually posting is working well.  I am trying, but time is always limited, I get distracted, and somedays I have absolutely nothing to say that’s worth writing at all.

I want this blog to at least be slightly less boring and useless than watching paint dry!

I am tempted to start a Twitter account solely to destroy it.  I would post long, long, entries, but because of the 140 character limit, I would have to do it in pieces.  So that means writing a script to chop the text up and post it at timely intervals until it is al sent.  Would be hillarious to write out huge long twitter entries like that  Pretty sure I’d get banned pretty quick.

Anime list is progressing well.  Not ready to be uplaoded, but is designed and filled with almost 100 different series I’ve read, seen, or have my eyes on.  I know I’m missing some, but once it’s up, it will be updated often.  I absoltuely needed to collect all of that…there’s alot to read and watch!

Well Then That Explains a Thing or Two

Finally got the power supply replaced.  Got me a new Corsair CX400W for $80 minus a mail-in rebate, so good deal there.  Purrs along nicely and keeps things well powered, as fa as I can tell.  Oh and the fans work, so it’s not heating up the case and CPU constantly!  Now to just replace the three main case fans, get a new slot-fan and front plate as well and things will be perfect.

I have a 24″ case, exactly, with a divider, giving me two cooling zones.  HDD, CPU, GFX card and Motehrboard are in one large one with an input an output.  DVD burner and PSU are on the other, with a single output.  It’s a large space, so it cools nicely, but needs new fans, these old ones are loud and cranky.

Got fairly behind this weekend, but had a good D&D session.  Added my fourth player to nicely balance out the group.  The new guys uses a tablet PC, and while it dislikes my wireless, makes it very easy to keep character sheets and copies.

Plan on making him a quick dice-roller app, and if it works well, I mayb jsut post it here.  Been interesting in fighting with GTK, this might be the time to try it.

Same as last month, since this one went so quick, I’m going to reveal the answers to the music-related posts below.
